Good Friends are Good Energy

Life without friends is similar to having a meal without side dish. We are sometimes a bit confused to choose what to eat but we sometimes take it for granted to choose friends. Food influences our body and friends’ attitudes can influence our mind. We spend hours picking out clothes, months picking out a car, and maybe years to find a house. Yet, how much effort and thought do we put into choosing our friends, the people who will affect, influence, inspire and change our lives? Our personal circle is one that is often taken for granted, yet it is our single most important asset aside from our minds.

Think about it. How would your life be like if you were constantly surrounded by negative, complaining, ambition-less people? But what if you were surrounded by grateful, uplifting, people who were driven by their passions and goals? People are like sponges. We soak up the energy, thoughts, ideas, and mentality of those around us whether we’re conscious of it or not.

So look around you. Make a list of the 5 people you spend the most time with. Are these people passionate, motivated, and inspiring? Or are they negative and constantly pulling you down with their complaints and pessimism? If you have a friend like that you may need to distance yourself away. Be honest with them. It doesn’t serve you or your friend to put up with their constant negativity. Let them know how you feel and why you need to spend time away from them. Help them if you can but know that you’re not their keeper. Nor are you responsible for their happiness and actions.

So having good friends is the same as consuming vitamins for our mind. Try to select your friends as best as you can to keep good energy in your body and mind.
